Titman (1998) Review

If you know who Julian Rios is, then you probably saw the documentary on Stacy Valentine. I believe it was called, “The Girl Next Door”, and I loved the way that movie went. They interviewed Julian in that movie, and he talked about how Stacy is not the real person he’s dating, and that he sometimes became uncomfortable when costars were so enthused with working with his girlfriend. At one point, during the filming of “Sex Commandos”, the camera showed off Julian watching his costar going at it with his then girlfriend, Stacy, and it was definitely interesting to see how he felt about the situation. It’s a rare look into the real life or pornstars. Anyways, Julian is a guy that a lot of women loved, in and out of the business. I recall he was at an event and a lot of women wanted to suck him off, and he would just smile, and just say thanks, or no thanks and hug them. Anyways, this movie is directed by Julian, and it’s essentially him become a similar character as Seymour Butts, of “Family Business” fame.

As you may expect, “Titman” is from 1998, and Julian directs a series of gonzo scenes that feature, women with large breasts, and the men that love them. That’s it. There’s not a whole lot more to this, so if you’re a fan of gonzo porno movies, then you are going to be in for a treat as Julian seems to set the camera up and just lets the women and men do their thing. From flaccid to hard, you get a lot of simplicity here, and that can be good at times, but a bit boring at others. The main reason why I picked up this film for review is because it is one of the few movies that featured Lizzy Borden in a boy/girl scene. She didn’t do many before becoming a director, wrestling star, and lesbian only porn performer. So there you have a premise, and since I’m a fan of XPW, I had to see how this one progressed, even if she wasn’t alone in her scene, as it’s part of a four some. The movie is gonzo, so story is extremely light, and it’s all sex.

The breakdown of this video, since it’s gonzo, doesn’t require me to wax too poetic about what is going on. That being said, I’ll try to review it based on the action and direction. The opening scene features Jessica Jewel and Tony Tedeschi. I’ve seen Tedeschi in a lot of movies, and his signature is the hair that he has, which is straight and long, but not too long. He’s in other movies I’ve reviewed on this page, and is one of the studs that is frequently in 1990s porno. He reminds me of a grunge guitar player. I am not too familiar with Jessica Jewel, but she does ok here, and seems to enjoy Tony’s movements going into oral and then several positions. It seems as though the two have some chemistry, but nothing too extreme, getting the job done, and then finishing off as you’d expect. It’s not a hot scene, and she seems to be kind of playing it up for the camera, which is a standard right? The finale of the two going forward is rough, fast, and Tony just goes for broke without a condom on and in doggy position before finishing off. It’s here that the camera shifts onto their faces and you can’t help but laugh. It’s not a great scene.

Next up, you get a four some outside with Cassidy, Rebecca Wild, Ian Daniels and Julian. This is a standard scene with exactly what you’d expect. The girls are hot, but they keep looking at the camera, and they keep trying to outdo themselves, instead of focusing on their partners. This is not a bad scene, but it didn’t hold my attention too much. If you’re a Julian fan, you can do a lot better in my view, but this is an ok sequence. There is condom use in this one, and it almost looks like Julian is wearing 2 condoms at one point. This is kind of boring scene if you ask me.

Tye and Jlian St. Jox put on a nice scene up next. This is a breast lover’s scene, as there’s a lot of play with them, and lots of teasing, touching and kissing. This scene seems out of place, considering the other scenes don’t have nearly as much foreplay, specifically in regard to the breasts, for a movie called “Titman”.

Julian and Marilyn Star put on a sequence next. Star has a really colorful bikini and this scene is shot outside. The one thing I did like was that there was a lot of kissing at the start. I like the idea of foreplay, but I like the deep French kissing, and standard girlfriend type of experiences on film. I guess I’m an odd person to say that, but hey, it’s what I like. Julian and Marilyn show off some real chemistry to start, and it divulges into what you’d expect. Breast play leads to dry humping, and then oral, before Julian pulls out all the stops and enjoys all that Star has to offer here. Julian once again wears a condom for the most part, and it’s obvious on the scenes, which doesn’t bother me. However, there are times that it seems that it slipped off or he took it off. Star gets into the scene at times, but then forgets that she is working and it becomes obvious that they are just “working”, and not really into it. That took me out of the scene, which is always an odd thing for me to see.

Azlea and Tony Tedeschi are next, and the two seem to have the most chemistry together. Tedeschi is a true sport here, as Azlea is far rougher than his previous costar, and he really seems to like it at times. He’s not immediately hard though, and Azlea really puts on a show to get him to a point where penetration can begin. Of all the female stars, she seems to be giving it the most effort and perhaps that’s what people really want to see from this movie. This is a short scene, and perhaps the two had so much chemistry that Tony came too fast? I don’t know, but this is a fast, straight to the action scene and it’s the epitome of what gonzo porno truly is. Oh, and it’s odd that you sometimes see Tony wearing a condom and then at other times he doesn’t. I don’t know why the two are spliced together as one scene, or why he takes it off and then has it on, but I guess that’s just what happens in the heat of the action? I don’t know.

The finale is a four way but without switching partners. I know that sounds odd, but I’ve seen this type of action a lot in gonzo productions. The main reason why I wanted to get this movie was because Lizzy Borden was in it, and she’s here on display. She goes all out for her side of the bedroom in every way that you could expect, and it looks like she’s genuinely having fun with the role. That is in the background, however, because Julian and Ruby take up a great deal of the camera, and the two of them have so much chemistry that it makes this finale quite hot to say the least. While Ruby and Julian take up most of the action, you can still see Lizzy Borden having fun, although the director (Julian) obviously wants the camera more focused on him and Ruby, and that’s what you get. Not a bad scene, but definitely not what I personally wanted to see, but hey, it is what it is.

I give “Titman” a 3 out of 5.

There you go, a gonzo feature that was directed by Julian, and had Lizzy Borden in it. It’s not bad for 1998, but it’s not that great either. I’ll have to look into Ruby a bit more, I liked her performance, so maybe there’s more to see from her. Julian’s always a good stud, but I just wanted more Lizzy, and that’s why I can’t give this gonzo picture more stars.
